Re: Scottish Orienteering Championships
A gentle reminder that entries for the Scottish Relays close tomorrow.

Traditionalists will be pleased to note that the final course details (compiled 2 weeks ago so no doubt they will appear on the SOA website soon...) give lengths and approximate climb for individual legs.
The planner can confirm that courses are uncompromised by uncrossable fences; all courses except Yellow cross the Alves-Burghead railway but there are no scheduled services on Sundays so competitors may cross with care at any point.

They closed the line in 1992 (having been solely used for delivering grain to the malting for the previous 25 years).

Thanks. Any chance we can have it on Routegadget please, so that we can see how relay gaffling should be done?

The best relay I've ever been to in the UK. Top quality courses, gaffeling, map, and terrain. Well done Jon and MOR.

Our Routegadget guru has the files now so it should be up soon.
Hoping that the "all variations" pdfs from Condes can go online too.

I hope we can get this and Routegadget sorted very soon, noting this is the very first time we have used Si Timing, and also posting RG for Relays is not straightforward.

Links to the pages of splits are on this page - but you have to scroll a long way down to find the gaffle you ran first... then there's a red Splits button.

It has taken much longer than I had hoped, but Routegadget for the relays is ready now.

Thanks for putting up the forking PDF - looks very impressive!
Although I wonder whether an arena run through would have been possible (if a bit tight)?

Here's a few pictures, on Flikr, from the relays and also of the prizegiving for the weekend.

I'd also like to praise the relays as the area and planning were great, and kept you on your toes. It was easy to mess up if you weren't careful.
