Great run by Kris. Pretty certain that won’t be his last major sprint medal.

Free live GPS on Kris's first post. Definitely an advantage for anyone who does fell running regularly. There are going to be some tired quads by the end of the week!

Proving tricky, some of the Swiss runners losing significant time early on.

Re: European Orienteering Championships
top 17 Europeans qualify for the final. I think that means Jess and Alan are both in. Both are currently in 18th but with a non-European in front of them.

Called it too soon. Alan has slipped to 19th and 18th European, missing out by 2 seconds.
Well done to all the qualifiers and commiserations to those who missed out.

Re: European Orienteering Championships
Only two of the top ten nations, managed to qualify all their women, CZE and GB!
and only one of the six Swedish men qualified (edit- two injured so badly they were unable to finish).

Re: European Orienteering Championships
A very tricky looking area, quite low visibility. hard to tell from gps if someone has actually hit a control. Jess Tullie went nowhere near no6 according to GPS but went right to 7 then searched around ....frustrating watching.

Re: European Orienteering Championships
I think many runners will be thinking yesterday's steep slopes preferable to some of the legs today; deep gullies and streams, and patchy thick vegetation, never mind the climb and varied technical challenges. Perfect for the mid-Europeans!

Holding my breathe, Cat's flying to the arena pass at 11. Leg 12, quite some leg.

Great run from Cat, *edit* should be top 10, perhaps a podium place
(got a bit carried away with thinking she was on for a podium)
