BOF definition of orienteering:
Orienteering is an exciting and challenging outdoor sport that exercises mind and body.
The aim is to navigate between control points marked on an orienteering map.
In competitive orienteering the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time choosing your own best route.

For 'Oomph' I cannot find a rhyme.
No word I can find that's sublime.

May lead you to think
That O's for those well past their prime.

Good to read that you approve of one of the BOF initiatives for a change, judging by the liberal use of smilies in your post.
Not sure about the Ooomph name but if it gets people having a go and we hold on to some of them then what's wrong with that?
The conference today was the best I've been too, more positive than before and a good number of ideas shared with others for how we can help each other and keep this sport going. Hope to see more people there next year challenging, testing and strengthening the strategy with the drive to go away and do the legwork to make it happen.

. . was mentioned in Monday's Daily Telegraph in the article 'Meet the super-agers':
" ...the national governing bodies of volleyball, weightlifting, orienteering and boccia have adapted their sports specifically for older people"
