A contact in China (who brought a group of orienteers to the 6-Days last summer) is keen to invite some British orienteers to an event in China in early April (free flights, race entry and tourist visits).
If anyone is tempted please contact me at jon"at"big-jon.demon.co.uk and I will pass on your details to Mr Chen and his interpreter.

Re: China Orienteering
About 12-15 people expressed an interest so far. Chinese request was for up to 40-50... plenty more space!

Nope, just a group of up to 40 or 50... I guess they maybe want foreigners to show off orienteering as a way to attract people to China?

He's and orienteer and he's British (though Scottish would probably be a better description) also I guess he does qualify.

Re: China Orienteering
I imagine anyone interested who emailed now had a reply saying plans might change and event may not go ahead as scheduled, whatever that means!

Yes, I've had an e-mail saying much the same... not sure what is going to happen - but I wouldn't make 100% plans on going to China this year.
I have suggested that if they get next year sorted earlier we could get a large group going from Britain...
