Unsung Hero: Volunteer Denise Larrad for her fundraising work. The 55-year-old has had one sole aim - to get the people of Hinckley in Leicestershire active.

Heard her on the radio this morning and she listed being a deliverer of "Explorer - orienteering for kids" as one of her many activities on behalf of her community.

Denise was one of the very few highlights of the evening I thought (along with Jonnie Peacock coming third). What a disappointing show. Half the contenders weren't there including winner Mo Farrah who inexplicably appeared to be on baby sitting duty in London and not making a very good job of that either!

Not sure why anyone thought Noel Gallagher would be a good idea (or perhaps it was Liam as they both look the same but then again as they are never seen in the same room together maybe there is only one of them anyway)!

Well done to Claire Balding for mentioning the elephant in the room when she interviewed Chris Froome shame he didn't actually say anything to address the issue.

.....and why was it not said during Adam Peaty's section that he has the 10 fastest swims in history at his distance?

Jermain Defoe came out as the real hero of the night in my opinion!

You could argue that sitting on a motor bike and pointing it the right way is hardly a sport...

Not sure an orienteer should be criticising a sport because the skill is pointing yourself the right way...

I would imagine that the fitness of the guy sitting on the bike would put a lot of orienteers to shame.

His wife was in America finalising their move back to the UK, and to be honest he wouldn't have expected to win so why move heaven and earth to attend..
