University of Bristol Sprint Relays & more - 16th/17th Sept

Need some final preparation for the British Sprint Champs? Enjoyed following the elites in international sprint relays this summer and want a go yourself? Would like a weekend away in Bristol?

All these are good reasons to attend the University of Bristol OC 10th Anniversary Sprint Relays on Saturday 16th September, followed by a Bristol OK event in Ashton Court on Sunday.

The format is a 2x2 relay: 4 legs but with only two runners in each team so each person gets to run twice. Courses (planned by Megan Carter-Davies) are around the intricate university precinct and its gardens.

Entry is open to all. All combos of teams (genders/clubs/ages) will be accepted including entries by individuals who will be paired-up on or before the day (pre-entry through Fabian4 is highly preferred, £8 per runner). Racing starts at 1pm.

It is ten years this year since the University of Bristol Orienteering Club was reformed in 2007 and they are celebrating the anniversary with this weekend of orienteering. On Saturday night there is a meal for UBOC members and alumni (PM me if you would like details).

Sunday morning sees a score race organised by Bristol OK in Ashton Court which is just a short run across the Clifton Suspension Bridge from the city. It has crags and contours hidden in woodland separated by deer park and is a classic Bristol orienteering area offering great views.

A Trail-O is also on offer on the Sunday and the weekend gives you an opportunity to complete the Harbourside Photo-O tour if you missed it at the BOK Blast.

Today is the last day to get your online entries in for the 2x2 relays. Entry on the day will be available but if you can please email matthew.pickering@bristol.ac.uk with your name, your relay partner's name and which class you'd like to enter and we'll reserve a map for you.
