Back onto the 6-day though...
A massive thank you to everyone involved, it was a highly enjoyable week. A lot of hard work, but a lot of selfless volunteers.
Well done.

Many thanks to you and Chris for your excellent commentary. Your results were impressive - very difficult to work and then run as you did.

Re: S6D
My family and I thought this was the best 6 days we've ever been to. Great arenas, close to parking, lots of facilities, excellently planned whites and yellows (trying to stick to guidelines and not trying to be anything else), fabulous string courses that kept the little people happy and lots and lots of old friends and acquaintances to catch up with. I really do believe last week put the fun into and took the "B" off the front of the word Orienteering. Well done all!

6-Day questionnaire is now available-line. Please help us by filling it in:
We hope you enjoyed the Scottish 6-Days on Royal Deeside. In order to help us make the event even better in future years we would value your feedback by completing a post event competitor survey. Everyone who completes the survey will be eligible to be entered in a prize draw with a fantastic prize of 1 free entry to the Strathearn 2019 Scottish 6 Days. Closing date for the survey and draw is the 28th Aug 2017. Please follow the link below to access the survey:

Re: S6D
Filling in the questionnaire is important to us, and the subsequent reports go some way to us receiving future support and funding. From the entries system we now know that there were 3,249 competitors with 53% from the rest of the UK, 18% from Europe and 3% from the rest of the world. Daily car count averaged out at 1,110 and bus count was around 500 bookings. More stats will emerge later but happy to share report with future organisers.

It would be helpful if at least some of the results could be shared more widely, say on the S6D website, because it is difficult to get meaningful data from smaller events:
- Average spend would be useful when negotiating with local authorities - who may tend to only see the more negative aspects, such as H&S and car parking.
- Knowing whether competitors value things like social media, WREs, website and newsletters, and how people access results, would help clubs and associations plan appropriate provision
Etc
