The World Games
I saw this mentioned in the IOF email yesterday, I presume GB have no team?

Yes they do: Ralph, Peter, Tess and Megan. You wouldn't know it though looking at the BO website. Sprint starts in less than an hour. Not sure who is running what events or if they are running all - sprint, middle , sprint relay.

Thanks for the live results link JamesE. There's nothing like a summer's day in the office with a distraction running in background, or possibly the foreground!

Re: The World Games
Its incredible the small margins esp in the mens sprint - 2 seconds separating the top 2 and 8 within 31 seconds of the lead. I havent looked at the map yet but with Lysell and Michiels at the top I'm guessing fast and easy?
Maja Alm is in a class of her own in the womens though. You have to go to 32 seconds to find second place but then there are 8 within 30 seconds of 2nd place. Megan and Tess only a minute and a half and 2 minutes down respectively with Fanni splitting them - just shows how fast you need to be to place.

Maybe.
Timing is normally to 1 second accuracy, but in the WOC final, timing is to 0.1 second using electronic means of timing with start gates and a beam finish line.

That's a fiendishly good middle. Nice and challenging (Burnham-esque?).
I think it will favour the Czechs and Swiss......

Re: The World Games
An interesting secong leg from Megan, it was my first choice as it gave a good parh run and a good attack point but it turned out to be slow, i wonder if the forest from 1 was rougher than you might expect from the map or just too mcuh more climb than the w route.
recovering well then a miss on 10. the she must have been very close on the first pass.
lots of misses from others too hard to decide to go around some area of green or batter through.
If you can keep your line while all about you are losing theirs
You'll be an orienteer my son/daughter.
