Routegadget/Attackpoint url links
I regularly upload my route to routegadget and then link it from my attackpoint log so I can look back and see where I went. However, whilst the web link from AP to RG always works it never actually goes to the correct course/route combination url and I have to manually select my course & route again to see it. This seems to happen every time. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix (e.g. why does the url to my course/route change from .......rg2/#24&course=6&route=176 to ......rg2/#24&course=6&route=180 some time after I have drawn it?

At a guess I'd suggest that your name is getting bumped down the list by other runners alphabetically or numerically (or both) as they also plot their routes. Might be affected by other courses too?

Re: Routegadget/Attackpoint url links
The route numbers are allocated from the top of the first course, starting from zero and continuing after the first course onto the second course and so on.
GG was first on course 1 and is allocated route 0. Last place (including DQs) on course 1 is route 49, so first place on course 2 is route 50.
That would all work fine if everybody entered their routes manually, but each time somebody adds a GPS route it is inserted into the sequence. So when GG added his GPS trace it was insterted as route 1, and everybody after him was bumped down by 1. Last place on M21E would now be route 50 rather than 49. Every GPS route entered means that the sequence changes.
GG is ok. He will always be number 1.

Re: Routegadget/Attackpoint url links
I can confirm: the link I posted to my BOC route now only leads to the course. The 'route number' in the url has changed from 340 when I posted it to 363. So that would confirm PlainLazy and Frostbite's explanations.

This seems to be a bit of a flaw in the design. I might email them and suggest an "update" as i'm mildly annoyed by it

And I'm mildly surprised that no-one has noticed it for over two years . I have a cunning plan to fix it (James, get it sorted) so it should be corrected in the next release.

Re: Routegadget/Attackpoint url links
Version 1.4.1 has just been installed on all routegadget.co.uk sites and includes the necessary fix. The link now uses the routeid which never changes, so links you post elsewhere should always bring up the right route.
