Well it all seems to have gone quiet here...
This weekend is the British Student Champs organised by ShUOC. Individual tomorrow at Wharncliffe and (hungover) relay Sunday at Hugset Wood.
Any predictions? I have a few:
1. Edinburgh will win the overall competition due to shear numbers.
2. Winning times on Men's A will be longer than recent years.

..and a couple more:
3. In the absence of a SPOOK team, ShUOC will win the beer race
4. It will rain. Car/minibus parking may be problematic. The field was just beginning to dry out so fingers crossed...

Actually, Sheffield have more runners than Edinburgh do. Edinburgh will win by sheer talent alone.

Hmm. The planner, controller and SI results manager are all in SPOOK though. Not that we're biased, of course...

Charlie is talking about Wharncliffe, i.e. Saturday.

I have vague (and I mean vague) recollections of BUSA (as it was known then I think) champs in Sheffield from waaaay back in the 90's... maybe 1996?
No idea where the orienteering was held either day but I can still remember the morning after the party in the Student's Union and the view out of the 11th floor window of the student flats we stayed in

1997.
I was planning that year as well. It was also Wharncliffe that year but probably not many of the same people competing. Bart certainly didn't run Won by Jamie Stevenson.
Where did those 20 years go

I suppose I'd better brave the rain and make that happen.

My prediction: Edinburgh will win lots of things, including the beer race.
