Not orienteering, but thought provoking nonetheless. Thank goodness in our sport we carry maps and ALWAYS know where we are - don't we?
Mind you, some kind person/persons hid a couple of kites in some gorse bushes last time we planned an event - couldn't blame sheep that time. Luckily the controller found and re-instated them.

Not quite the same but I understand that on more than one occasion at Linwood parkrun some mischievous locals moved the markers to confuse people. Luckily invariably CLYDE's Donald Petrie is at or near the front and simply moves them back on his way round!

Interesting because when we tried to get permission for a "proper" event not a million miles from there we had all sorts of obstacles raised, not least that the national park people would not sanction any event with more than a few hundred people (when clearly there are many events that exceed this).
