Following what i said about BOC publicity, theCompsssport Cup is even more astonishing.
All I know is that the heats take place on March 12th. Regarding the Scottish heat the ONLY thing i know is that it will be at Tentsmuir hosted by KFO. I can find zero mention of it on KFO's website.
I then go to BOF to look at the rules, specifically which ages run which courses. A few years ago BOF made an inept attempt to userp Compasssport by renaming it the British inter club championships or some such name. It seems that having been told they couldn't change teh name they have dropped it like a stone as I can find no reference to it under National competitions, nor in the Rules and guidelines.
All this means that putting out information to encourage club members to enter the event can only be very limited.
How do we expect these events to thrive with publicity like this?
Just look what's happening to BOC on the most wonderful terrain at the best possible season and the entries don't look good.

Eddie,
It is no longer a BOF Competition. It is owned by CompassSport and managed by a small coordinating group.
See http://www.pgopage.co.uk/compasssportcup.htm
Perhaps ask you Club Captain if KFO have sent him any information?

You should look at the CompassSport Cup page Eddie. It link's to Peter Guillaume's page which contains the rules.
Publicity of the individual events is the responsibility of the hosting club. All the events are listed in the BO fixtures page.
Edit: Peter got there just before me. Thanks.

Re: Compasssport cup
Just to clarify my comment, Eddie is not the person I have as the MOR contact for the Compass Sport Cup. Organising clubs are provided with a list of the club contacts for their event.

Eddie,
On the British thread I did ask you;
What sort of publicity were you thinking could have been done, most people would look at the website which has the required details?
I saw no answer.
Can you elaborate, maybe then some action will be taken.
I totally agree High Dam will be a great area, at a great time of year.

For action needed to improve British info/publicity, I think the problem many people are having is that they are getting to this page on the LOC website...
http://www.lakeland-orienteering.org.uk ... 6-may-2017
...and some of them are getting to that page because it is the LOC website that is the only link offered from the relevant event page on the BOF fixture list...
https://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/ ... vent=65814
The same issue applies on the relevant British Relay Champs page(s) too.
I know there is a separate BOC website but it would be good if both those two obvious places to look for information linked to it
Why did I do that...
