Re: End of Nopesport?
Anybody actually looked at the plan today? The reference to Nopesport was on p18. It has mysteriously changed overnight, and now simply says that a Facebook page will be developed.

Re: End of Nopesport?
I suspect someone realised that putting in a performance measure that was completely outside their control was a little foolish. (Or to be generous that they had loaded a version that wasn't the final one).
Either way, just changing the published version with no acknowledgement of the change is poor practice. Some people will already have downloaded and circulated the previous one.

OK, so now we've got that one sorted out, which bit shall we go after next?
Who said nopesport never achieves anything

I trust some people will upload the original for scrutiny.

Ha, so it has! But has the intention also been revised?
As Plain Lazy pointed out, Facebook is a not a good medium for on-going discussion. The life of a post is probably no more than a day or two. Comments/replies longer than a short paragraph seem crass and out of place. And it certainly would not usable as a resource. I doubt a Facebook page would have replaced the Nopesport forum, they do not fulfill the same functions.
Check out the FRA FB page to get an idea of the type of interaction it would promote. (Requests for recommendations of races and kit, the sharing of photos, and so on.)

So apart from this issue, what about discussion of the rest of the Strategic Plan?

If BO had no intention whatsoever, how did it get into the plan and get published?

The item is:
BO Strategic Plan -- as of 2nd Feb 2017 wrote:
5.8 New (Strategic Objective) Replace online (externally run) Nopesport forum with a Facebook discussion page.
(Actions) Online forum to be replaced by Facebook discussion page.
(Performance measure) Forum removed, Facebook discussion page active.
(Timescale) Short term (by 2017)
Once I've worked out how to move the whole, old document, from my phone to my
proper computer I will be able to check all the other undocumented changes that
will no doubt appear as the powers that be move the goal posts.

Must agree here. Why can't it be sent out electronically for those who feel it's a compelling read?

Re: End of Nopesport?
Most club websites have a prominent link to Nopesport. I can find no such equivalent on the BO website. Why not? Many potentially enthusiastic posters may be unaware of its existence.

Exactly how did a strategic plan, that will have to have been approved by the whole Board of Directors have such a reference then if BO has no intention whatsoever to interfere in Nopesport?
That is really quite worrying.
By the way, the plan has clearly been amended in such a hurry that the action point relating to point 5.8 doesn't make sense.
What are pictorial descriptions?

Re: End of Nopesport?
If BO(F) had wanted to end nopesport they could easily have bought it when it was up for sale (or perhaps the previous owner wouldn't want to sell to them?)
Anyway, nopesport won't be going anywhere unless the owners decide to get rid of it, BOF can't/won't do it.
Who does own nopesport these days? Or is that a closely guarded secret? I'm not sure it ever changed hands, the adverts look awfully similar to before.

Maybe they did buy it! and maybe that's why it hasn't changed much / at all.
