Probably a stupid question but are night events in or not in the rankings calculations. I thought they were not included.
Rule 2.1.1 from the BOF site suggests they are NOT excluded.
Or does it depend on how they are registered?
If they are not included then some of the YHOA ones need removing.
If they are included then some of the NWOA ones need adding, but it is after the submission deadline

They are included providing they meet the criteria.
Which includes the submission date

NWNL events are registered at level D, and therefore not included in the rankings. YHOA night league events are level C, so they are included. Obviously the Yorkshire events are better.

The rules for Ranking events were changed to include night events 2 or 3 years ago.

Thanks for all the clarifications, obviously I missed the change and lacked confidence in the rules being accurate and the latest ones
And thanks to Frostbite for the amusing comment, say it enough times and people will start believing it. NW clubs will now be charging all Mexicans and Yorkies a 20% entry tax at all events.

Maroc and Gramp still charged the same ridiculously low entry fees as previously, with no surcharges whatsoever (£5/£2.50) for the Deeside Night Cup - Britain's premier night league.

The whole saga of the single ranking list from the botched implementation to the current inability to apply a fix reveals a lot about BOF's priorities and capacity to manage.
On the plus side at least the sport is financially secure thanks to the levies paid by those thousands of Xplorer and Route participants

Re: The greatest result of a generation
And yet, despite having the algorithm implemented wrongly, despite having no error checking, despite having a few flagrantly silly scores, and despite no maintenance for input errors, it still produces a list where the people around me are the people of my standard, the people well above me are clearly better than I am, and those with lower average scores are worse.
A race between "those ranked 200-300" would be far closer and more interesting for me than any of the other ways we divvy up people between courses.
