Interesting to notice the geographical spread of the new talent squad - only three athletes are based south of Yorkshire. Big-up! to Maroc and WCOC who seem to be producing the majority.

I think that's a very salient point but makes a pretty substantial assumption that the main function of orienteering clubs is to develop talent. In my experience even the same club can go through phases depending on who draws the short straw to be in charge, but certainly a recurring aim has been the provision of orienteering experiences for the current members.
