Really nice and varied set of three training sessions in the sun yesterday. Finished off with a very informative talk by Kris Jones.
Back again today for some more in Stirling today

Re: Sprint Scotland
An excellent weekend's racing, wish i was less decrepit and able to have done more of what was on offer. My thanks to Graham and all those involved, and i hope there will be more SprintScotlands.

Re: Sprint Scotland
Yes, a very enjoyable weekend ( didn't do the training days so can't comment on those). Nice atmosphere in the assembly halls, not far to walk from the car on either day, good planning, clear maps. My only minor criticism would be that the control numbers on Saturday were quite hard to read in places and some could have been better positioned over lighter areas. Thanks to all the team who packed a lot into the 4 days.

Re: Sprint Scotland
Training days were very well organised and a hugely worthwhile exercise. I enjoyed all the talks too. I thought all 3 races offered something different. Hallglen East was a terrific challenge with the slope and complex housing. Hallglen West was flatter and faster but offered increased potential for mispunching (sadly) and with the added challenge of some terrain.
Grangemouth was several small areas rolled into one and a fitting finale to the 4 days. Great to see 13 nations (I think) represented at the event, and if GG feels a repeat is viable in future years I can thoroughly recommend it.

Re: Sprint Scotland
Many thanks to GG and all those who made it happen.
We could only do saturday and Sunday but it was well worth the trip north.
Excellend areas (esp. Sat am, no way could I go at full speed), maps and courses.
Would echo the comment about control number positioning on Saturday (and cutting of a few more lines and circles would not have gone amiss), but that should not detract from a great weekend.
It's just a pity more were not there to enjoy it.

Re: Sprint Scotland
It was interesting to see the competition happen on Saturday & good to see people enjoying themselves & listen to the enthusiastic chatter & discussion from the runners. But it did nothing to convince me that I wanted to run round a big housing scheme in Central Scotland.
Guess the problem is that I'm fortunate to have spent my orienteering 'life' running in the nature and many beautiful / technical forests worldwide.
Like I said..... good that people enjoyed themselves.

Go orienteering in Lithuania......... best in the world:)

Re: Sprint Scotland
Thanks for the (mostly) kind comments - we have now put together a short feedback survey for participants - https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KQG93JG.
Please help the team learn as much as possible from the experience and fill it in.
If you took part in the training sessions / talks, then we have an extra survey about those too - https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KW6ZM92
Let me know if -
You were unable to attend and want your maps
You would like to purchase extra maps from the training sessions or races (£2.50 each)
You would like a Sprint Scotland T-shirt (£10 each, order by Sun 24th July)
