The British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Orienteering Champtionships are taking place this weekend in the Forest of Dean, Bristol and the Cotswolds.
The University of Bristol Orienteering Club is hosting the event with the aid of Bristol OK and North Gloucester OC.
Saturday's individual is on Moseley Green and is a selection race for the World University Orienteering Championships in Hungary this summer.
Thanks to the BUCS O Needs You thread entries stand at (approx) 105 on Men A, 67 Women A, 13 Men B, 20 Women Open, 10 Men Open (same course).
The relays on Sunday are at Cooper's Hill, famous for its cheese rolling. Competitors will find runnable woodland, detailed contours, but some steep slopes.

Don't know who is doing SI, but BOK have a Western Night League event on the same area this evening so that might delay uploading of BUCS results.

Has the sport of orienteering missed a trick today? I looked at the BUCSport twitter feed - lots of photos from other student sports competitions but ours seems to be the secret sport again.

Same with our club - golden opportunity squandered last week - Social Media works - you just have to have the will to make it work

...and the time. As someone who has had to use facebook and twitter in a semi official capacity for both SOA and S6D, its simply not possible to focus on it if you have various other roles as well - and I think that applies equally to club O (possibly unless you are retired or otherwise not working). IMO for social media to work you need to give it to someone who is keen and say that's your job, nothing else, no planning, or coaching or organising or manning the start or whatever. But how many clubs these days have the volunteer resource to do that?

I'm not sure whether this is what you mean, but I'm don't believe DNFs/MPs should be counted when working out the penalty score for incomplete teams. Not going to make any difference to the top positions though.
