Senior Home International
Happening this weekend at the AIRE events. Individual Saturday, Relay Sunday. Anyone know what the teams are? I couldn't see any selections on e.g. EOC or SOA websites. Anyone betting on the winners? Last year it was quite close. I think Scotland beat England in the individual, England just beat Scotland in relays, but Scotland won overall. But more excitingly I think Ireland beat Wales, which doesn't often happen.

I know who's on the England team:
M21: Richard Robinson, Will Gardner, Jamie Parkinson, Dave Schorah, Jonny Crickmore, GG
M20: Will Rigg, Aidan Smith, Matt Elkington
W21: Zoe Harding, Alice Leake, Ruth Holmes, Kim Baxter, Helen Winskill, Heather Monro
W20: Natalie Beadle, Helen Ockenden, Julie Emmerson
So no place for you this year Duncan I'm afraid But thanks for your sterling support in previous years
Great to have a few 'old hands' in the women's team. Heather is very excited about her first international for some years!
England are overdue a win, and after last year's close result in Scotland, are hoping to come out on top. Go England!

Re: Senior Home International
Looks like a winning team to me. Roll out those W40s.
It is probably a good sign you don't need me in the team. Have run SHIs in 10 out of the last 11 years, but almost never been in the first named team, usually called up as nth reserve...

Re: Senior Home International
Scotland weren't quite so dominant today in the relays. Results here:

However a convincing overall win for Scotland. Well done them.
Hopefully there'll be revenge for England in the VHI in 2 weeks time.
Thanks to AIRE for a great w/e's o'ing. Good practice for JK Day 3 next year too...

Re: Senior Home International
Out of interest, what are the rules about individual winning times for the SHI?
In the event it was a classic distance race for the women but a shortened classic for the men.

You can see the planner's explanation in this link.
The embargo he refers to was the withdrawal of access to an important and substantial part of the area two weeks before the event.

Hope you are not contemplating some form of dry-stone wall vandalism over the next few months.

Promise not! The area just has bigger blocks of terrain without walls.
