Time to start thinking about next year. Which races are on the calendar? Will they be good? If so, why?
I've already had my ear bent about Norwich, Wantage & Grove, Liverpool and Great Malvern, so there's lots of potential to go to some new places. Use this thread to tell everyone about them.

Re: UK Urban League 2016
EUOC's Burns Weekend, 23/24th January, will hopefully be offering up some new parts of Edinburgh, not visited before by the Big Weekend. They'll also be the Saturday night ceilidh and a colour coded event on Sunday. A great weekend of social orienteering!

Any more, particularly in Scotland?
This year's generous sponsorship from BML and CompassSport enabled the printing and distribution of several thousand A6 postcards to raise the profile of the series. Thanks also to Mike Shires for his excellent design work on the postcards.
In the absence of actual cash funding I asked the clubs that had races in the league, and which were likely to benefit from increased entries, to make a £20 donation each to fund some kit vouchers for the category leaders. Despite the request coming after the list had been finalised, response was good. So look out for some actual winnings being presented in Brighton!
(Vouchers are not just easy to post, but facilitate full distribution of the fund -- UKUL is not a profit-making enterprise.)
I'm intending to continue this practice, so being willing to contribute to the prize fund will become a condition for having a race accepted.

There will be, maybe Andypat knows?
If you're including sprints, we have this... http://sprintscotland.co.uk/
WOC2024 Edinburgh
Test races at SprintScotland (Alloa/Falkirk) and Euromeeting (near Stirling).

I would be surprised if these two are urban - both are usually standard EML colour code areas...

Re: UK Urban League 2016
Shame about the clash between Wells (BOK) - which sounds v nice and Liverpool (Level B, Formby the day before). We might have gone to both but Liverpool will win I think - only in orienteering of course not football
Doesn't look like there are a load of other options though?

Agreed, Liverpool should be excellent, particularly if we get in the multi-level L1 centre - http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc24 ... ty1072.jpg
Of the list above, I'm also excited about Hull, as the map of the last race there looked great. & also Sprint Scotland, depending on individual venues.
Stop talking, start running.

Sprint Scotland venues will include Stirling city centre (although probably not back in the castle again) and various surroundings, Bannockburn (WRE in June this year), a part of Falkirk - the best sprint terrain I have ever mapped - and there are provisional plans for at least 2 races on brand new areas tbc but have some interesting ideas up my sleeve.

Rescheduled Newcastle City & Quayside race is on 21st August. It missed the scan above 'cos the registration was not complete with the event type.
But it will be a quality race in a very technically demanding area.

16th April 2016, CLOK urban event at Whitby, part of the UKOL weekend (Northern Champs the following day at Mulgrave). Wasn't marked as urban in the fixtures before, it is now.

Re: UK Urban League 2016
The only definites I have so far in Scotland (from a SOUL perspective) are Edinburgh, South Queensferry (both mentioned above) and LIvingston on 9/4/16
Assuming GGs races follow normal urban course format then they would certainly be worth including.
There are also likely to be urban races in Aberdeen and Paisley (courtesy of GG mapping again) at some point in the year but no dates as yet, and STAG I'm sure will do something in or around Glasgow.
I should give a shout out for the Jedburgh race on 27/9/15 which is likely to be very scenic and the Cumbernauld races on 31 Oct/1 Nov which will be exactly the opposite of scenic but the map is incredible.
