Ruined abbeys, old forts, quarried areas etc. etc.: there need to be additional IOF standard scales at 1:2500 and maybe even 1:1000 with a 1.25m or less contour interval - much more fun than standard 'urban'

That is not new, the Scottish Sprint Champs were held there a few years ago!

Nope. JCMB is a complicated eight floor building (with roof and "cloister"). The Scottish Champs were outside.

Not sure when - but it's in the pipeline - Sunny Scunny - it will be AWESOME!! We are also eyeing up Bridlington, Driffield and several other little gems - so many opportunities, so little resource!

Race the Castles in Scotland sounds a great idea, but will we get to run IN the castles? Its always a shame to run past Edinburgh castle and not go in , permissions I guess?

The abbeys like Fountains with the whole estate sounds good too, but doubt the National Trust would buy it - Claro?


Its mentioned above London 2013 has a watery theme - not the Docklands? but that would be nice.

Beware of the bluebells. As a result of these I strongly suspect Scarborough holds the record for the slowest ever mins/km by someone successfully completing the "A" final in a sprint.

It's in Leeds but on the EBOR side of the A1!!!! (Not sure we ever thought we could have a Leeds O area east of the A1 back when the club boundaries were drawn - way back when????)

Aire have briefly discussed Thorp Arch a while back and, if I recall correctly, the discussion centred around it being a bit too rectangular, and didn't get any further.

But must confess it's 30 odd years since I was last there. Sounds like it deserves a fresh look.

Could be a possible race as to who gets there first.
