there was an interesting control in a cave at the czech 5 day in 2000. nothing speccy about having a control in a cave, only this one was down a flight of steps into the cave and then round the corner to the left, you couldn't see the control from the top, then when you punched it was that dark that you couldn't see the control, only the red light flashing from the SI unit.

aye that control was great ben, confused the hell out of a lot of people, we went out after we had finished as laughed at peoples minfortune!(bit harsh but funny)
My dad was the planner at the event at the alton towers, for those younguns out there all round the log flume they used to have dinosaurs and stuff, so dad had mammoth left tusk and tyranosaours foot, think that these will be tricky to beat!!

Have a look at the entry for 30 May. the control was down a very long narrow gap in a cliff face and then round a corner.

fastest ever orienteering dan?
not sure i've ever been faster on a "proper" course
did you climb straight up the crag by the bridge leaving the castle?
another good control feature - castle tower meets castle wall, north side (shame dan spent about half a minute looking on the south side)
