People fall over on 1st leg and Tio/Jukola all the time.
If you're lucky you just lose about 10s and 30 places...

I think 2006 Jukoa winner Tero Föhr sums it up nicely...

That is such a great film about night orienteering - I keep going back to it like a well thumbed book

Re: Jukola 2012
I see quite a few teams have declared their running order for Jukola, including Brits - BOK 1 & 2, MEROC, JOK, NOPE, EUOC, MAROC & SYO. I know Doug T is running 5th leg for TuMe 1st team but what about other Brits running for foreign clubs???

Re: Jukola 2012
I am impressed MEROC have a team - looks like it might be a bit of a family affair:

Re: Jukola 2012
Some soft Swedes dropped out of the Ravinen 1st team (aka team GB) which meant some Brits ran different legs which aren't shown in the results.
Jonny Crickmore - 1st leg, 1st team
Will Gardner - 1st leg, 2nd team
Andy Llewellyn - 2nd leg, 2nd team
Sarah-Jane Gaffney (also running in Venla for SLOW) - 5th leg, 3rd team
For Venla the order was shifted completely, but Charlotte still stayed on last leg.

Re: Jukola 2012
It's written by a non orienteer with apparently the express aim of looking good. CompassSport is primarily written for orienteers by a damned good one.
I like the fact that every map extract appears to be random - any interesting section mentioned in the text is inevitably not a bit that's shown in the extract.
