crapness ?

I was reading the closed/ open club thread and thinking that as administrators BOF are being a bit crap, what with the database being incapable, and the recent "Britishness" affair.
But then I thought that was probably unfair and I went to the BOF website to see what good things they were up to.

And there on the front page is an announcement of awards.
listed are the nominees and the recipients, but that is all.
Now, whilst the Club of the year award is to some extent self evident it would be nice to know just why MAR were the winners, what have they been up to ? What's the good example ?
Then there are the Mapping awards, for mappping obviously but for what aspects of mapping are the Bonnington, Walsh and Silva Trophys awarded, for which maps did the winners receive them, and why were they worthy ?
Finally the mystery Silva Award.
Congratulations to Roger Baker, for doing we know not what, nor why it was so good.

This dismal display sealed it for me -
Do BOF think ?
Do BOF try ?
Do BOF care ?
Are they a bit crap ?
