Actually the biggest safety net should be the GBR Team Leaders... they are there to ensure that all the team, potential team & officials are fully aware of the embargoed areas.
I'm certain that at least one Bulletin has been issued with details of the embarged areas. I certainly know that I proposed training athletes on the terrains until the anouncements were made public...
So at the end of the day it's down to the team leaders & also the individual reponsibility of athletes......

Hmmm..I've been "enjoying" Ilkley Moor since I was a very small bairn. It's also very public and has had years and years of problems with vandalism. I'm still not convinced.
My initial reaction was very much the same as yours Becks, but sometimes familiarity does really breed contempt. I've quite often run on areas that I've thought produced a great event, which somebody local has said they didn't believe would make a decent race. Look at trebor's reaction to next year's JK being on those areas as one example. I also remember planning a JIRC individual on Danefield to the consternation of quite a few locals, but which according to non-locals was well up to scratch - they just hadn't run on it every other week.
So whilst I also remain to be convinced, I hope this is one of those occasions, and that Supersaint is proved right, and you and I wrong!

ok maybe i was a little unfair, but i was comparing it to graythwaite and penhale. The west mids struggle to bring good areas to jks and whatever we have i'm sure will be the best we can manage, regardless of whether people enjoy it or not
as for the vandelism, sherbrook is just as exposed as ilkley moor, and they've never had problems

Erm....we always have problems with vandalism. I'm not suggesting, it happens every time. Especially the man who goes round cutting the string on thr string course because his dog might get caught in it.
Will? We've got proper fire now!

We try not to talk about Wyrley round these parts.
Has anyone experienced parts of Kilvey Hill (nr Swansea)? We were warned to to park in certain areas because there were "bandits"...
