BOF is now headlining a news item about the British Club Championship with absolutely no mention of CompassSport at all..

Amusingly it gives a link to to a list of event guidelines which contains no mention of the British Club Championship at all. It does however list the CompassSport Cup and Trophy.

A (not very) carefully worded statement has appeared on the BOF website confirming that the CompassSport Cup is indeed the CompassSport Cup and receives no input from BOF above any other competitions. A victory for common sense! Well done Nick

Neither the competitions nor the events will form part of the Event Managers’ work programmes nor will they be part of the major events programme owned by British Orienteering.

Does anyone know what the major events programme is ?

The Compass Sport Cup Final is one of the biggest events of the year, and along with the heats contributes large amounts of money to British Orienteering through the event levies. Yet they now seem to be saying they are sidelining the event simply because they have lost the battle to call it the British Club Championships. Not really very sporting behaviour on their part.

Potentially they could generate another additional competition with a modified format that might resolve some of the issues that have been noted with the CSC - that could/would be a positive outcome
