Re: WOC Middle Final
It was provisionally Orr/Palmer/Rollins and Crane/Fraser/Gristwood, but apparently with the possibility of reselecting based on performances during the week.

Re: WOC Middle Final
Our photos from the week are at https://picasaweb.google.com/mark.stodgell/WOC2011OPhotos# - hopefully they show the atmosphere & emotion & excitement of the week.
What an incredible week it was. The orienteering was physically & technically rock hard & the spectator races showed just how good the good guys are (30mins/km for the punters was not uncommon!!).
The atmosphere at the finals was fantastic, especially when anyone French was anywhere near the arena, or even on the big screen, & the noise for Thierry was just huge. How he could race in such a controlled way with so much pressure....gold medals deserved!! Loved his clear delight when he was on the run in for the long race.
There were 20 or so Chasers (including family members) out there, & even the non-orienteers were caught up in the bell ringing, flag waving & cheering, & are looking forward to Scotland 2015
Finally, a big
to all the British team for their open invitation for tea & cakes - it was the highlight of Stodglets week - thank you so much!!

Re: WOC Middle Final
Spot on, Stodgetta. I'm glad to hear that Stodglet hasn't been put off orienteering for life after her experiences with wasps, electric fences and cows.
We too had a great week and running on 'the terrain of the champions' was quite an experience.
Relieved to see I wasn't the only one to struggle with my first control. I spent 20 minutes in and around the control circle on Day 6 without finding it, before walking the walk of shame back out through the start and heading back north on the autoroute.
