4th team (and not far down at all) seems like a strong performance to me - good work
Here's hoping it's laid the foundations for some medals on home terrain next year

Re: Wolrd Trail-Orienteering Champs 2011
CBG: thanks - pretty stressful on the brain, but after Day 1 of O-Ringen (31 controls + 3 timed controls) [all correct!] it seemed quite short. At least I didn't come in > 5 mins late like in Trondheim and throw away 2 points.
I was a bit disappointed on Day 2 with a couple of the controls that I didn't do well at (being in 3rd place overnight added some stress! In fact check out the Day 1 rankings to see how many of the top 10 stayed there for Day 2, I held it together better than most).
Thanks Scott: getting on the World Champs podium was great. All 3 of us had made what we consider were silly mistakes so it could so easily have been a medal, but then again like Foot-O, Trail-O will always have a bit of "what if" or "if only" - and the teams above us would all be the same.
I'll worry about 2012 when I see the Selection criteria as I'll miss one of the 3 selection events as I'll be planning it - now that doesn't happen in many sports!
