If any of you folks out there get some basketball tickets and are not too happy then I'll take them off your hands.... know a small nation that will be desperate.... particularly if the final is Lietuva v USA

Re: Olympic tickets
I have not applied for any. Plan was to go and watch some of the free events, as accomodation in/around London is going to stretch my budgets as it is. However, I have since found that most of the Triathlon (typically a free event) is ticketed, and despite the Cycling Road Race being on open roads, the best spectator bit is possibly going to be fenced off to spectators. (Not Impressed). Looks like I could be watching just the cycling time trial, or investing the money in a big HD TV and staying in.

Re: Olympic tickets
Not being able to access my credit card online (since I had to use my old visa card) I still dont know if I got any! Would it have been too tricky to send out an email at the time of taking the money (or not)?
We've decided that if we dont get any we are not applying at the second offering. Croeso it is!

Re: Olympic tickets
I think 1 morning of hockey is as much as I can face. It's a long way to go for 1 hockey session though. The kayaking in August is falling through as they are only letting people do the competency paddle test and go on the water at weekends and I've booked our flights back on a Thursday. Looks like that will have to be another trip, the novelty of it may have worn off by then and it be easier to book places.
2/3 of people not getting anything is worse that they said earlier. I think people should have got a maximum number of sessions, and they maybe could have had some system so people who had to travel didn't just get 1 session as I probably wouldn't have bothered applying if I knew I'd just get 1.
Everyone getting 4 sessions and the applicants having to have a list of 10 sessions with 4 of these being allocated and either getting 4 sessions or none would have made more sense to me. People who just wanted 1 session could have 1, but I suspect alot of people would like 4 if they are travelling.

Re: Olympic tickets
Owing to a family c*ck up, I only went on line on the last night, so just got applications in for cycling and hockey before the system hung up completely. Looking at the amounts debited, looks like we got the Women's 5-6/11-12 place matches, plus one of the Men's or Women's gold medal matches, so pretty content with that, as offspring and I are both fairly avid hockey watchers/ex-players. We've also got accommodation booked to cover the cycling time trials and Women's triathlon.
TBH, much more concerned, when it comes to cycling, this prospect excites me just as much:

Re: Olympic tickets
We didnt get any of our meagre requests - as expected I suppose.
I think where the system fell down for people up here in Scotland is that it totally fails to allow you to plan anything. We had hoped to use it as our holiday in 2012. I dont know what we'd have done if we'd only got 1 event say - happier not to have got any now. Not much incentive to go online to pick up the dregs of whats left.

Great tickets to get!
We'll be just round the corner that evening, watching the women's hockey final. Maybe not quite as good, but we're still happy with those!
