Anyone going? I applied for 4 events and got 1 so will now be watching a first round hockey heat (son plays hockey for the school and was keen to watch some good hockey).
Disappointed not to get cycling or kayaking but sounds like the velodrome is quite small so was hugely oversubscribed. The kayaking venue is up and running so will probably take son there this August to have a go himself with money saved on not getting tickets.

Re: Olympic tickets
I applied for some. Paid for it on the visa credit card so until the bill arrives I've no idea what I've got (if any).
But it sounds like you have official confirmation of the allocation?

Re: Olympic tickets
No I used my visa debit card so have just been keeping an eye on my current account and spotted the transaction with London Tickets next to it and worked out what I'd got from the amount debited.

Re: Olympic tickets
We applied for 15 sessions across a whole load of different sports, including athletics and cycling that will be over-subscribed, and others that hopefully won't.
So far all I know is that my credit card has been billed for £106, which represents either 1 or 2 sessions. No email confirmation yet, and if that's all we get, it'll be disappointing.

Re: Olympic tickets
Applied for about £800 worth, expected maybe £400 to come through, various sports not just athletics and generally early rounds/morning slots, but still only got £120 worth.
Looks like there's some spare money for holidays next year though.
Seb Coe says there was no fairer way of allocating tickets but I don't agree. There could have been a number of imaginative pre-qualifying tests to filter out the corporate fat cats and fair weather sports fans. Want tickets for the 100metres - you have to run one in under 15 seconds. Though just being able to run one would remove half the people. Cycling? First 5000 in the London to Brighton race etc etc.

Bradley Wiggins tweets that he hasn't got tickets for his family for the cycling.

Re: Olympic tickets
Agree the number of tickets given to corporate folk seems excessive, they have held back huge numbers. on the other hand I don't want to pay any more tax to support it, so maybe that's the price you pay. If the corporate bods are going to get the tickets though they should be forced to sit in their seats for the duration and watch every bit of the omnium, not sneak off for drinks and snacks because the sport bit is "boring".
I don't believe they really allocated the ordinary seats by lottery though.
I presumed that competitors like Bradley would be given so many tickets for their event for their family. Appalling that they aren't.

Re: Olympic tickets
It would have been better in Paris. Easier to get tickets, just as good on TV and wouldn't have money sucked out of British Sport especially non-Olympic sports like orienteering.

Re: Olympic tickets
ow well there is always CROESO 2012 in sunny Aberystwyth (today anyway!), huge amount of effort going in to make the event centre - Aber Uni the place to be, full accommodation, full social programme, student bars, large tv screens, theatre and cinema on site, tourist attractions on the way to and from the events, national gardens scheme and the cracking area of Teifi Pools..you'll have to wait for the CompassSport Photo O to see what a superb area it is...you will not be disappointed

Phoned the credit card company to find out. I applied for £600 - got £65 [so far]. Think it must be for one hockey session or day 1 of the athletics.

Re: Olympic tickets
Looks like 3 of us may have got hockey and nothing else then. Glad my dad lives nearby and is handy for the free cycling events as I wouldn't go to London for just 1 hockey event.
