What have the nopesport cartel done?
Nopesport was created in hundreds of hours of unpaid dungeon work way back in 2003 (? dubious on historical accuracy...).
It took over from the Peel message board as a place for youngsters to come and banter about orienteering and to post embarassing photos of their drunken nights out.
Since then the nopesport cartel have set up the Purple Thistle, the Nopesport urban league and represented at the Jukola relay. The popular forums have become THE place to banter, moan, debate, and whinge about orienteering. Nopesport, just like CompassSport is a voice for orienteers independent from the National governing body.
British Orienteering are probably not massive nopesport fans and as such are highly unlikely to give the boys an award for their efforts.. but even BO can't deny the influence nopesport has had and the excitement it creates. It's no longer the UK Online Orienteering Community but it's still a hub for it and has inspired Club forums across the country.
Shoot me down in flames in typical nopesport fashion if you must but I'm proposing that someone nominates the Zuckerbergs of UK Orienteering for the Silva Award for services to orienteering.
NOPESPORT CARTEL: award for services to orienteering?

Re: NOPESPORT CARTEL: award for services to orienteering?
why in Banter ?
why can't you nominate them ?
did Pyrat put you up to it ?
go on, do it
then I hope they either fail to attend the ceremony or do some sort of KLF type thing.
or did I just spoil the plan ?

I would never nominate them. I dislike them and everything they stand for.
This post should cover your 1st question nicely.

BOF gave Brooner a "Service to Orienteering" certificate a couple of years ago.
