Nopesport user baiting?
Is it just me, or does anyone else think there's a bit of Nopesport user baiting going on at the moment? The game seems to be: register a new username; start a contentious/silly thread; see how many users you can get to take it seriously and respond.

Re: Nopesport user baiting?
When I started, quite a few years ago, the only subjects available were "banter" and "discussion". This has gradually changed to what we see today. I think I am right in saying that there used to be a rule.... that posters weren't allowed to register multiple usernames. Long since removed from the rule book though.
Hope this helps,

Taking them to court does seem a bit harsh.

So does anyone actually check the applications to join nopesport or is it just one of those funny letter visual tests - I think I'm gonna try

I have 2 accounts, but only use one as I cannot remember what my user name or password are.

I know this is the banter forum and so a degree of abuse is perfectly acceptable. However, I feel that this crosses the line and I am incredibly offended by these comments.
I only took up orienteering this October when I started at university. I have enjoyed it so much and made so many great new friends that I felt the only next logical step to further my orienteering development was to join this forum.
I am sorry that you seem to have found the topic I started "silly". However, it is a genuine story and one that I thought others may be able to relate to, I hoped at the very least to get some words of advice to help me next time I venture into the forest (if I can ever get over the mental trauma of this).
I know my suggestion for solving the clothing problem may have seemed a bit radical but just because you have been orienteering longer than I have doesn't mean that my ideas are instantly wrong and yours are always correct.
Once again I would like to say how disgusted I am by the accusations against me. I can only hope that not all new members are treated in this way.

Well apologies to you if I have offended you Another180.
I guess there are a few trolls around here who have been known to be a bit provocative just to get a reaction. Maybe a username with part or all of your name will help prevent other people making this mistake?

I think guest960504 may fall into this category. A bit too knowledgeable to be a spambot but, I suspect, deliberately provocative.
When we start discussing the font style for control descriptions we are asking for it though...
If the numbers are his/her date of birth then I'm quite impressed.

Would you care to furnish me with an example of being "deliberately provocative" taking in to account that unlike some of the people on this thread I have not chastised a new member of the sport.

Re: Nopesport user baiting?
Well if he's not a troll I would imagine we will see this account replaced with a username like a real name, or a signature with his name. No need to be shy Another180, we are all nice people.*
