I've been underground orienteering (I suspect quite a few reading have too). They had it as a side event to JK89 in a disused mine/munitions storage facility somewhere in the Mendips. Imagine a sprint distance race with lots of uncrossable walls but in the utter pitch black. Spare torches I seem to remember were compulsory.

CUOC have tried night canoe-O twice (on Windermere) during our annual December training tour... great fun but obviously quite cold and wet!
