And Charlie will be at VHI helping England win
Since Charlie is unable to attend and you have been unable to organise yourself to enter on time one would assume Charlie is the Champion

Well done Charlie

Wow Roger that was speedy! Thanks for getting the League positions out so quickly before next week's final. Guess the only thing I can claim this year is attending all events! Watch out Mrs H, I'm back in with you next year!

And as I'm the controller, I'm not going to get the win I need! Well done, Delia!
On a different point, are last year's winners returning their trophies at some point? Or do the Nopesport team sort out that one?

Having just been to Cardiff for a weekend I'd say when they run a Cardiff Event I'm in. I enjoy the urban events but don't have Mrs H's committment. I go to those that are attractive and fit in with the other half's O calendar.

Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

I may have to take out a contract to pull this one off:? Glenys where were you this weekend - I was hoping you would have put me out of my misery by now! Wendles - i'm looking forward to it already

No he's not. According to your calculations, if Adam mispunches at Warwick and therefore gets 0 points, then Simon, Alex or Adam (Potter) will get a higher score than him

Am slowly (and I mean slowly) doing a map of Cardiff as it would be a truly great venue with castle, parks, acrcades and not to mention a few internaltional sporting venues all close together. Probably be 2012 though by the time ready for a race.

Simon looks favourite. Even if Adam wins, Simon only needs to come 6th or better to win the league. Apart from a Sheffield mis-punch (which got me too

Alex or Adam Potter could still win, but they haven't entered. My money is on a Bradbury to win...

Yes, of course; clearly I'm better at calculations than commentary. Sorry Adam et al.

Re: Really the Nopesport Urban League 2010
Final results are here: women, men, with the top three in each category listed below.
Juniors
Simon Bradbury picked up his fourth win, and his sixth scoring run took him past big brother Adam. Although Michael Adams won the under-16s race round the park, eight finishers on the Urban course (which ranks first) meant that he could only improve by two points so Alex McCann hangs onto third.
Elizabeth Parkinson and Amy Kimberley both improved their Junior Women scores slightly, but the order didn't change.
Open
Liam Harrington and Ollie O'Brien both improved but Ed Catmur was safe in first place.
Jenny Johnson won the women's competition; Charlotte Ward won impressively on the day and moved up to second.
Veterans
Martin Ward managed to blag a late entry, having turned down selection for the Veteran Home Internationals in an effort to retain his house-brick. But to no avail: despite being at the VHIs Charlie Adams (just!) had a good enough lead, and clung on by a single point.
With Liz Phillips controlling the Warwick race, Delia Kingsbury was safe.
Superveterans
Bill Hanley confirmed his victory with a second place on the day ahead of Doug Henderson. Mike Hampton's 8th was just enough to put him into a tie for third (although the announcer didn't recognise that their points were equal: sorry Mike!).
Having led the W55+ course all the way round, Lynden Hartmann lost time in the park at the end of the race and was two seconds down at the last control, before a tremendous sprint gave her a win by one second. This put her one point ahead of Glenys Ferguson's overnight total, but second place for Glenys improved her score by six and she took the trophy.
Congratulations to all the winners.
So ends another season. We had some 1400 runners, between them clocking up 2500 scoring runs, plus several dozen at London who finished outside the point-scoring top 94 places. Arguably the keenest category were the Women Supervets -- the only category where the runners averaged more than two scoring races each.
No, I don't know which races will form the league for 2011. However, those of you who fancy a challenge may like to note that plans are afoot for a Didcot race on the Bank Holiday Monday 27 August 2012.

Re: Really the Nopesport Urban League 2010
Thank you Roger it's your scoring which brings the whole thing to life. We have had a wonderful time - I just wish I'd been able to capitalise earlier on in the season. Your scoing makes all sorts of sub competitions possible - like Lester and Madmike's - even tho' they chose to judge it on every head to head rather than counting scores.
I don't think we'll be able to hit it so hard next year - but I'm already looking forward to welcoming Wendles to the realms of super-vet-dome. shall we have a small wager on it (no cakes please). I think a pair of earrings should do it
Well what a day - the Warwick race, the Ryder Cup, and Chelsea won - check out those fantasy results - life doesn't get much better than this.
cheers (clink clink)
I love you all

So how come Warwick urban was allowed to enter M/W14s but St Andrews wasn't? I'm completely confused now. Were there no roads on the Warwick urban?

We are finalising plans for a St Albans City Race next year. The preferred date is Sunday 26th August at present. Looks like it could be quite a good bank holiday weekend, especially if somebody can find something suitable for the Saturday as well.
Highlights of your tour of St Albans may include the Cathedral, the oldest pub in Britain, various bits of Roman wall, and the prison gates that feature in the opening scenes of Porridge.
