Have got a bit into geocaching recently and noticed there is a big geocaching event going on in Perth next month http://www.megascotland.co.uk/
Is this somewhere PWT could recruit from/publicise it's event, or do you think many geocachers who aren't already into orienteering won't be interested in the fast speed side of it?
I was interested to see that an interlopers member had posted caches at many of the Ed permanent courses and was advertising orienteering that way, so wondered if this was an advertising possibility. Perhaps I should just email scott.

Sorry, this took us a wee while to sort out.
Juniors will be able to enter, but only with permission of a parent/guardian willing to vouch for their ability to cross a road without getting knocked down.

Central Perth is pedestrianised, but the course does cross many access roads to and from car parks: traffic is light and slow moving. It won't be possible to marshall all locations where runners and cars could coincide. There's no "junior" course.

I was looking to enter this on Fabian. It states it is £8 per event with a £2 BOF discount. Yet the fees for the 2 races come to £18

Don't suppose you ticked all 3 boxes did you? the 3 events are actually only two

Yep, I just tested it and exactly what you describe happened. It'll be £18 until you de-select either event 1or 2 (read the description above it entitled 'Important note' for better info) and then click 'Re-calculate Fees'

Did you select a class? If a class isn't selected some red text appears saying you need to do that. (or send me a screenshot and I'll take a look)

There are no roads at Scone.

Ooops, there is a road to cross at Scone, the access to the public's carpark. It runs through an open field with excellent sightlines, so shouldn't be a danger and the schools course doesn't cross it.

The two courses will be in "contrasting" terrain (e.g. 95% grassy vs 95% tarmac) and between them will test all your O-skills. Well, except maybe contouring . I got lost test running my own course

Already a bunch of medallists from WOC signed up as well as few more finalising details to attend at the moment, it's going to be an exciting couple of days of orienteering, make sure you don't miss it!

Was told last night that the maze has been mapped as well and there will probably be a free informal 3 control sprint course round the maze at Scone palace Fri and/or Sat if we get enough volunteers to man it as well as the main sprint course.

We are pleased to announce that Jörgen Mårtensson (2 times World
Champion and widely regarded as one of the best orienteers ever) will be joining
us at the PWT and will be giving a presentation at the Perth Concert Hall on
Friday 10th September from 7:30. Entry to this will be free and the talk
is aimed at performance athletes and coaches.
Plus a list of confirmed runners

Prizes for the Open Classes

There will be prizes for the junior and veteran classes in addition to the
prizes for the PWT Elites. The junior classes will only have prizes for
the Scone Palace event (Friday and Saturday morning) and the Veterans
(classes in 10 year age gaps) prizes will be for the PWT final in Perth centre.
