What did ppl think of the courses?I thought it was a good event and well done to HALO but I thought they were, in places, just glorified cross country running. Did anyone else have problems getting to their 1st control- i didnt realise but we didnt actually start next to the start kite-oops!

yeh the light green- it should have been simple->just run north for a couple of hundred metres. But as I thought we were already at the start kite I ended up 100m to the east to the control and couldnt figure it out. And the "path" marked just didnt exist as I managed to cross it and hit the tripod! I lost 2 mins there.

note: if unsure, ask someone, it usually helps. the start kite quite blatantly wasn't at the start, so if you'd asked a start official they would have told you it was at the end of the tapes...but then that did involve finding the end of the tapes, which i never quite managed.
must agree with andy though. the courses were particularly cross-country running, with a few legs involving 1km track runs. they could have perhaps made up for this by making courses a bit longer.

Sounds a lot nicer than eliteserie was, wish I could've turned out for NOC especially as i think my Mum did the same mpks there as i did in the Kopparkavle the same day. NOC will be back, i think second is pretty good anyway though.

the area was indeed lovely, even if it wasn't technical. it was fairly close in the end, about 30pts between AIRE and NOC, though if NOC had had their full strength Women out it would have been a lot closer.
Map of Course A is now in the Compass Sport Cup gallery.
