Anyone know how to insert controls to a catching features map?
I've converted an OCAD map and got a course set up. Been round it and it seems to work fine, if a bit slowly.
Only problem is that I can't work out how to make the controls visible - bit annoying having to run in circles around the control site until "Control 1" flashes up when you hit the right spot.
The help bit of the catching features website says you have to insert them but doesn't tell you how.
Any tips?

Ok, theres no easy way of doing this as far as I can tell. You have to load the kite object from <cf directory>/rand/objects/controlstick.3ds (using File->Import 3ds). It will then ask you for an image file. Use <cf directory>/maps/control.jpg. There should now be a small flag in the bottom left of the map. You now have to drag it (select the triangles by dragging over it) and position it manually where your control is (remember it has to be right vertically as well). Repeat this for every control then run the course to see how wrong you got the positioning.
There should really be a better way but, In this case, I doubt it's NatWest.

The latest set of results from Alain Mazy's page have been posted (Western Rehoboth). I was crap, but at least I can only get better.
And at least someone else has got close to Thierry Gueorgiou's time - sooner or later someone might beat him
And there's another map to compete on, but it looks a bit green!

If you download the zip file it contains a folder with the name "rnd-04kg16o16or8ku3wqy1odwdcfkm800kem88chu". Don't rename this, just put the whole folder and its contents (which includes several other folders) into your Program Files\CatchingFeatures\Maps\ folder.
Then run Catching Features, and you'll see the new area is available to select.

Matt, you can't import new maps into the demo...cough up...youv'e not long had that loan. Martin the girl Jene doesn't seem to be particularly computer minded....i've tried to explain the 'simple' process of importing maps, but to no avail. Oh and spookster -look out for 'Bolehill Park' coming to a catching features game near you....that's when exams are finished, and i've got a bit more time on my hands.

an even easier way-
click file - open object file;
open the map folder you are working on, then day 1, then the map, then there should be something like objects.???
then go courses - edit courses
go into birds eye view;
shift and right click where you want the control to be. (You can check this by pressing space)
click file - import object.
import controlstick.obj? and control.jpg?
then click on courses - insert control
place the control exactly where you've got the control stand (eg. the centre of the green square)
then fill in the clue description.
and yer set
you can change the courses by clicking on courses- course 00 or new course, and fiddling round with clicking on different controls.
