You let your team mates down a lot more by not running!
This appears to be a peculiarly British attitude - relays are a lot more participation based abroad, where everybody appears to get stuck in.
Well I do run - its just that if i see I've got a relay leg of 5k or so my heart sinks as i know I'll take about 10-15min longer than the leader even if I have a perfect run - give me short sharp and technical any day - or the orange leg of the 11 person relay
