Hi all, this is my first post here although I've been lurking for a while.
By way of introduction: I'm a fairly unfit, fairly ordinary M55, living in Cumbria, member of BL.
I came back to the sport after a long lay-off a few years ago, to discover that it had been transformed by electronics!
Which brings me to my question- can anybody recommend (or warn me off) a GPS logger (probably USB rather than Bluetooth)- just something basic to log training runs and events.
Thanks for any comments.
Richard

Re: GPS logger
I have one of these, and have found it to be pretty good. Managed to pick it up in a sale for £20
. Only problem is that it can sometime be quite slow to initially pick up a signal, but otherwise it's excellent.

Re: GPS logger
I was looking a little while ago at the Qstarz devices that are available via Amazon - does anyone have any experience with them?

Re: GPS logger
I’m using a iBlue 747A+, purchased off Ebay for about £30, and am happy with it.
The software that comes with it seems a bit fickle when it comes to communicating with it (USB or Bluetooth) from a computer, but always works after a few goes. The latest versions of the supplied software applications are freely downloadable from the manufacturers website, so they may get that aspect fixed one day. There is also third party (freeware) software on the web that seems to link more successfully.
Speed of start up is pretty quick when a recent set of AGPS data has been downloaded into the device (via the supplied or 3rd party software).
There is an article about my initial experiences with the logger here.

Re: GPS logger
Thanks for the various comments. I bought a Ventus G370 for 45 quid and it seems to do the job well enough, although I suspect that tree cover might confuse it a bit.
We shall see.
