they held an urban score eent in Milan once where they went into metro system under the city centre, with a map of the underground and overground sections with stairs linking the two at arious points.
This is probably the safest from you could have of undeground o' (?) but I doubt you'd get permission to do that in the UK.

LOK had an event in chislehurst Caves many moons ago - pre risk assesstment days There was an article in compass sport about it.

Simon Errington dug out an article on Chislehurst last time we had a cave-O discussion on Nopesport.

It was called the 'Monkton Farleigh Exprience'. I think it is largely a man-made underground armaments store.

I don't recall that there were any major risks that would prevent it being repeated (they had moved the armaments by then!). I recall that there were several k of unlit passages. Late 80s I think.

I'd happily travel from Manchester for another go.

Update: Did a web trawl. Looks like it closed to the public in 1990 and is now used as some sort of documents store.

AIRE have a weekend of urban racing on 9/10 October at Thornton, Haworth and Otley.
And I believe EPOC have an event lined up in Holmfirth and CLARO in Ripon.

I very much doubt Cambridge will be taking place in February given that CUOC are putting on the Icenian at the end of January.

It does seem weird with all the events to choose from to pick a veue with no fixed date within 2 months.

I hope they go for later in the year, like 2009: the weather's likely to be so much more pleasant for this sort of event in the autumn.
