if you have OCAD 8 when you plan courses it does gaffling for you... you tell it the possible combinations and how many teams running and when you click print it does a different map for each leg which incorporates all the gaffles and each team is different until you've reached the max number of possible gaffles. magic.

i discovered it last year when we were teaching the kids to plan courses for the junoir relays in the area. there's a button on the right which prints team number on your map and one for the leg... its an awesome tool, the only problem is arranging the control numbers so they work for all courses!

I have to commend the planners this weekend for what seems to be quite reasonable gaffling. The comments I heard on the long course were that the gaffles meant that people on the same leg as you were running at right angles to you, which I think is quite cool
Now, I know you're a feminist, and I think that's adorable, but this is grown-up time and I'm the man.

Yeah i like the sound of crossovers and 90degree legs on gaffeled courses-gives it a more competitive/racing edge, but i'm sure it could totally demorolize you if you can see that you are MILES behind where you should be!
