World Students
Can I just say a huge congrats to everyone in the team, but in particular to our very own Miss Whitehouse! What a legend! And guys - she's in OUOC these days, not SLOW.
Will? We've got proper fire now!

Echoing Becks congratulations to the team. However, how do present students feel? There is only 1 member of each team who is doing there first degree. The others are either first year downers or are those perpetual students doing years of PhD work. Is that what its about or should it be confined to those doing there first degree?
What does everyone think?

if they are a student they go, and only when they reach the grand old age of about 28 (i think) they have to give up playing!!

I only took up orienteering as a postgrad, so am really chuffed to have made the team before I'm too old (yup, 28 is the limit). I agree I'd be a bit miffed if I thought places were being snatched by people who shouldn't be eligible, but most undergrads who are looking to go to the World students should be good enough to be aiming at JWOC for the first couple of years of their degree, so reckon there is plenty for everyone? Surely we all have to fit in some work somewhere too.......?!?
The criterion which is a bit odd is the fact that you're eligible for the year after you leave, but this surely comes from the fact that the Champs are only held every two years, so everyone gets at least two chances even on a three year course.

Not totally on the subject but apologies to Pippa, Lucy & Liz for identifying the team wrong on monday. I was going to say OUOC but then thought you were wearing a SLOW top, then after you had passed I realised it wasnt. Was going a bit crossed eyed at that stage looking at 22 windows on 2 PC screens.
