Never been and son keen to go so thinking about going next year. Never been to Sweden. What's the area they're using like? From the website it sounds as though they don't use that bit that often so maybe not the best Swedish terrain, on the other hand if I wait another 2 years (wouldn't want to combine oringen and 6 days) son may decide he's too old to go with mum and my chance to go will vanish.
Perhaps all Sweden is good?
Any knowledgable oringen regulars?

Orebro will make a good Oringen.... and it's not too much distance from any of the Stockholm Airports.... do Ryanair still fly from Edinburgh to Skavsta?

What are the oringen campsites like? I'm extemely grumpy if I don't get much sleep. Do they have drying rooms there? Can imagine all our clothes being soaked by day 3. Maybe should leave camping to teenagers and book a b&b, although son likes the sociableness of campsites. What have other done?

I suspect that it may have changed, but last time I did O Ringen the organisers had given up on the Brits. The camp site is massive and all in regimented rows. The Brits however were allocated a separate field where as far as the organisers were concerned they could camp as and where they liked, and could make as much noise as they liked - some youngsters (no names) certainly took advantage of the latter freedom

This year you could stay at the campsite or they had an army barracks to stay at. Most of the week it rained and I hate camping so was so glad to be in the barracks.
If you camp you want to be placed somewhere away from youths as they make a lot of noise. Some young Danes + Swedes had the police over at where they were camping so if you want sleep I would be careful about where you decide to stay.
However there are many kids around and for them I´m sure it's great fun and your son would make some new friends and the social side would be very good.
I would really recommend going. I´ve been for the last 2 years and just love it and it´s a great week of racing and with such good competition

Having Securitas turn up at your pitch is the measure of a good O-ringen party

I think the bribing the local police chief to give us our escort maybe nullifies that one Gross! But it was amusing to watch the Ukranian police gunning their Ladas towards oncoming cars to clear the road for our buses. Shame they didn't speed up the border crossing.......

Presume the last one's spam with a few words missing. Not convinced men (or women)are at their most romantic when muddy and wet and clad in brightly coloured nylon.
