I'll pass your query on direct to the organiser.

Re: Oxford City Race
The entry details are now fully up on the OUOC website. http://www.cityrace.org.uk
The begginers courses are the colour coded ones.
There will be entry on the day, obviously we will have to guess how many maps to print, and so there will only be as many entries as we print maps.
The entry fees are different. It's £4 up to and including today and £6 from then on.

Re: Oxford City Race
Is the map extended for this year (southwards)?
Does it include the city centre?
Are there any new colleges being used?

Re: Oxford City Race
This year the area is from University Parks (where the assembly has been the last 2 times) southwards, so it will be over the centre of Oxford.
We have got some colleges, some of these were used in 2006, but unfortunately there are also a few colleges that have refused us permission.

Post Oxford City Race
Enjoyed the 'run' around Oxford, but who else thought there was very little navigation, and a lot of running?
Looking at how worn the grass was cutting from the nearby path to the control on a statue in the last college, how many 'illegally' cut across this grass (marked as Out of Bounds 'garden') - Lets see your true route on routegadget.
Running out of bib numbers... Considering OUOC must have know the number of pre-entries, how come they ran out of bib numbers? Did it really matter as i, and others were able to enter colleges without one?
Surely if they are needed, then simply allocate a particular number to a runner?

Re: Post Oxford City Race
LOT: yes, as I carefully picked my way around it I saw several people on the grass just there. Very easy to do if you're just leaving the control on the statue and are trying to sort out the next leg. Moreover, unless the question and answer were misunderstood, I gather the marshal on the gate to the NE of that control, which I used to exit onto the N-S road (Parks Road), told at least one incoming inquisitor that the grass was in-bounds.
When there were no numbers remaining at the start, I was told that I'd be OK without one because most of the people on the gates would know who I was so would let me in (frankly, the difference between a competitor mid-course and a tourist is pretty damn obvious), but would also be able to identify me and disqualify me if I transgressed.
More numbers would have been better, but if enough number-wearers were discouraged from cheating then having them probably provided a useful service.

Yes, an enjoyable thrash, but not the technical interest that I'd hoped for given experience at the first Oxford race and the map. All rather straightforward bar a couple of legs, and there was plenty of time to plan for them given the rest wasn't keeping the brain overly occupied.
