Maybe the league thing would work for regular runners. If you make par time three times in row - you go up, if you don't three times in a row you go down.
Could give me problems if there's no brown and all the fast people run blue, and I could end up on an orange fairly soon!
I got lost on an orange with the kids last week, but I blame MarkC's dodgy map!

The way it works in Canoe Slalom is you win x races or get y results in a year above n points you go up. n is an increasingly higher score the further up you go. You only go down at the end of the year if your average of the best 3 is very low so if we did the same you wouldn't end up on an orange unless you got very bad and it would still take quite a few years.
There's trouble with these divisions though (not saying we shouldn't do it). Two examples they have rules for in canoeing are - what happens if like at the moment Heather is injured and all of a sudden she's demoted at the end of the year, and worse doesn't compete for a whole year and then no ranking at all - back to the white?
I'm sure these things can be overcome though. The system gives you something to aim at e.g. if I train all winter I can try to get promoted from blue to brown. Not if I train all winter I might finish only 20 mins down at JK instead of 30.

OK, which bit? Bearing in mind that I surveyed it two to three years ago so if the problem was with vegetation it might have grown since

Previous Champions Cup could be done on a few nationals, Jk, British and have a final like the superbly organised FCC - and it would allow the adults to become famous on commentary

North part of Bush Heath - only teasing - real problem was my poor map memory. My seven year old was testing this by only showing me the map for two seconds before snatching it back and marching off into the braken.
Maybe this could become a new training method??

Mrs H. responded:
Who needs a previous champions cup for that - just get on [nope] and it will happen
Alternatively, wave nicely to the guys in the tent as you head down the run-in. That way they announce you, but ignore the winner of the W40 relay just ahead of you!
