In that case Graeme, if I can book this today or tomorrow before trains go up in price (can do it for £49 t0 £60, depending on how crazy I want my sleep patterns to be that weekend!), I am in. Would the Crickmores mind having a girl in the team? They could always go first and second depending on how bothered they were. Grassie, what say you?
Grassie
Ackland
Crickmore

Carlyle
Almost there!

Re: Jukola/Venla
I'm happy being part of any team that I can get a run on and wouldnt mind doing a first/night leg if required.
I was going to fly ryanair from stansted to tampere on friday and back late on sunday. I was looking at bus from tampere to nikkeli but if theres a lift going somewhere too or enough people to fill a car id be happy with driving too

So, I am going to Finland anyway!
We have 9 days before entries close - who will join us?!
(If you're on the east coast line, you can get to London for £9 single by train after work on Thursday, it's a bit more on Monday to come bacl but still probably cheaper than flying).

If the Crickmores don't mind having a short fat midde aged bloke with dodgy ankles in the team as well as a girl - I could probably make it. Would have to check travel arrangements but if I can get there by leaving work after lunch on the Friday and be back at work for mid-morning Monday at the latest then I'm game on.
PS I am pretty much night blind so running in day light would be good!

hop fat boy, hop!

Re: Jukola/Venla
----UPDATE----
I've booked the flights from Stansted on Friday 12th June to Tampere and back Sunday night so I am signed up! I believe Becks has also booked them before they go up in price...
I would like to run one of the earlier night legs, and particularly leg 1 if available.
Who's in?

Re: Jukola/Venla
Last time I looked the last bus from Tampere to Mikkeli was at 18:00 changing somewhere enroute! There might be special Jukola connections... sure the Jukola website will say...
I might turn up with a car... let you know nearer the time... I'm thinking of driving up to Tallinn & getting the ferry across..

Re: Jukola/Venla
I can't work out if you guys need another team member I was so if you still need another, I'll be there. That is, if you can deign an Australian on top on of everything else
I'd planned on spectating, but now it's getting closer, I feel like I want to run. Ran the night long last year (in SLOWs team, I'm experienced at pretending to be British), so any leg is doable.
Cheers,
Pat Saile

Re: Jukola/Venla
Pat,
I think we do need one more because we have:
Grassie
Crickmore
Crickmore
Ackland
Carlyle
Edwards
and the legs are:
1. 12,2 - 12,3 km daylight/dusk
2. 12,6 - 12,7 km dusk
3. 14,8 - 14,9 km dusk
4. 8,7 - 8,9 km dusk/daylight
5. 8,8 - 9,0 km daylight
6. 11,1 - 11,3 km daylight
7. 16,4- 16,6 km daylight
so we must be 1 short unless I'm missing something or someone?
