Re: British Night Champs
Blimey ... give me a chance to get home phew ! Results posted 23:52 (http://www.southernnavigators.com/results.html) , 2 hours after the prize giving - I hope all who took part enjoyed the challenge even if it was in the South !!! Will get routegadget up and going when our "RG Master" sees his inbox; tomorrow hopefully.

Re: British Night Champs
Good event, well done for getting the results up before midinight !!
If SJ had bothered to run then he would have seen the results at 21:30, when prizegiving took place. There is no pleasing some people.
If mharky can be bothered to go to Routgadget he can see the the event did not take place on " vague southern areas, you just can't night orienteer on simple area. you need detail. night orienteering in the south is just about running round paths and then taking an epic compass bearing that you hope comes good... joy.
no offence to SN, they can only plan with what they've got."

Agree, a very enjoyable and testing event. I thought that my course was really well planned.
Not sure that a full risk assessment was carried out on the podium though

Re: British Night Champs
Good job with the results posting.
Does anyone know if there was at some point a specific decision in British orienteering not to use reflecs in night orienteering? Just a small piece of reflective tape on the trestle or a tube hanging alongside the kite. I'm sure there will be people who are aghast at this idea but night orienteering is still challenging with reflecs.

Only 2 Brits in the top 6 of our National Champs, and 1 an M35 - a sign of the times
