they will probably get invites to the final anyway.
and if they dont they should still go to jwoc since they are the two top male juniors in the country.

I think they need to compete at the final before they get selected - else what's the point in having selection races at all - it just makes a mockery of the whole system and makes people travel all over the place for no reason if it's a foregone conclusion before they even compete.

Guest > Selection races are used to help select the best team. Scott and Oleg have clearly already proved they are the best juniors in the country, and our best chance of achieving world class results at JWOC. They have nothing to prove by running the selection races and probably feel they'd be better focusing their training towards JWOC instead. They should be pre-selected and let the other boys fight for the last 4 places.

I'm sure the selectors will have noted what Scott and Oleg have been doing over the winter. Surely nobody can doubt their abilities, and with Scott having won the 2005 JWOC sprint race and been 3rd at the JK sprint last weekend would pre select him anyway. If it doesn't fit in with his training schedule then so be it. He needs to listen to his coach. Hopefully the two of them will go, otherwise any team would be greatly understrength.

I think Oleg is going but Scott ius in Norway so his selection races were taken as Spring Cup and JK I believe. To not select either of them would be ridiculous and that would make a mockery of the system.

I think both should be going but also think it should be made clear by the selectors so that someone doesn't think they've done enough in a selection race to be told 'sorry mate you might have come second but you are not going', that's if the selectors bother to tell them at all!

Typical Brits.... lets be 'fair' to all even if it means making out team weak! Scott & Oleg should have been pre selected never mind suggesting they traip up to Oban to prove not a lot!

ok heres one
what happens if someone who ran this weekend scores more than the 15th place before JOK finishes outside 15th place after JOK. Eg Helen Hanstock i think has scored more than lauren ferrand, but lies 16th? (correct me if im wrong)

read them first. Maybe you dont understabd what im asking. Helen was outside top 15 after JK. She now has more points than Lauren Ferrand who was 15th at the JK. Yet due to other people gaining after JOK helen is 16th, and outside top 15. I assume this means helen is allowed to go to the final, even though she didnt make top 15
