i think i am being used as slave labour on the saturday morning, possibly dropping in on my sister (who is middle of flat decorating overdrive). I think i'd rather do another 12 KIMMs than spend the morning painting ... ah well, at least i escaped the sanding of the floors, that was hard apparently! yey! can't wait to see everyone again, specially now it seems there will be so many juniors there... anyone got any idea when there will be starts up, my tinternet explorer doesn't like me at the moment...

21st is assuming that I get everything sorted out by then and can squeeze everyone into the start list. I think you can assume it probably won't be first thing in the morning.

Predictions Anyone?
Mine are
M18 1 Dave 2 Doug 3 John
W18 1 Stef 2 Anne 3 Lizi
M20 1 Joe 2 Ben 3 Iain
W20 1 Helen G 2 Rose 3 Tess
Low entry on W20, means good points for those who are entered

M20 is hardly overpopulated. There are a lot of names missing there, so obviously the students can't afford to travel South, but higher on the M18/W18 where parents are still paying
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

Yes you're right Rob, although it does seem strange that with a 3 hour start block and only 10 competitors they need to put two of GBs top juniors off within 4 minutes of each other...and they've done it twice! (not that i'm bitter!) Just wondering, if we are to take the FCC series seriously (although whether having an FCC race in January is a good thing is a totally different debate) surely start lists should be seeded...or at least spread out when there's only 10 competitors.
(Check the W20 start list if you've no idea what i'm talking about)

ruth,
i think there are guidelines for fcc startlists, but they mostly go on the standings up to that race, therefor its a bit tricky for the first race!
as for having a race in january, obviously its not going to be when you're hitting your peak, but if you can train hard through it and still get a result then it can be a real confidence booster for later in the season.

The FCC and Start Selection races 2006 seeding guidelines state the following.
Where it is at all practicable seeded competitors should be at least 4 mins apart for Long distance races and 2 mins apart for Middle races.
(and yes the two individuals are on the seeded list)
