Hi, just to say that 18s can knock points off from 20s (but not the other way round) so for instance Rose Hodkinson would have knocked Helen into 3rd place on the JOK sprint, even though she was 2nd W20. Keeps us oldies on our toes anyway...

well its always been the case in the past.
so taking the top few in today's race for the men we get:
1 60pts Scott Fraser M20
2 55pts Oleg Chepelin M20
3 60pts Douglas Tullie M18
4 48pts Daniel Halliday M20
5 46pts Rhys Findlay-Robinson M20
6 55pts Andrew Llewellyn M18
7 44pts James Tullie M20
8 51pts Kyle Heron M18
9 48pts David Schorah M18
10 46pts Edward Cochrane M18
11 40pts Matthew Dickinson M20
Scores will be allocated to all finishers who are competitive under BOF rules in the respective classes, but these scores can only be counted towards an individual's total in the FCC when achieved within their own age class. Thus a W18 running in W20 will be scored for the purposes of awarding points to W20s, but cannot count those points in their own total. Equally an M16 running in M18 will be scored for the purposes of allocating points to the M18s, but is not eligible to compete and count their score in the FCC.

Surely this rule only applies when younger competitors run up a class. If I understand things correctly, this weekend's event should be scored for the two classes separately even though they were both running on the same course.

scores at the moment are pretty irrelevent really - on M18 there's Coombs with a single 60 point score ready to jump up there - he just needs to stop retiring
it'll be JK that makes it interesting - the BOF focus article on going back to the old national event lengths - was it 10k per day two years ago? (10k on sand dunes at british? - scary
