Just start one anyway. Try to encourage hillwalkers and runners.
But most importantly...work your magic in Freshers Week. Patrick can teach you a few things.
PS: Edinburgh rocks.
I want to walk up the side of the mountain, I want to walk down the other side of the mountain. I want to swim in the river, lie in the sun. I want to try being nice to everyone.

Rob, if you see pester my mate Rob O (look on my facebook) who is also there... I tried to get him to start a while ago. Plus he's cheap to buy, one drink and he's on the floor so bribes are easy!

All i can say is why dont more people come to Birmingham - or at least consider it? If you are eligable for tass, or have a chance of a scholarship then it is the best place to be (not biased at all). Even if you are not, its still the best place to be! We are not an elite club and you can orienteer regularly, run regularly in a good group and the areas aren't THAT bad.
to keep up publicity - if you do want to look round the uni and its amazing sports facilities/have more info about the club and what the uni provides for us email tessah9@hotmail.com or buoc@bugs.bham.ac.uk

The accent.
It's all because of the accent.

Good point Rob, your first choices were Sheffield and Newcastle, right? Let's see how decent they are then shall we?
2006 THES Ranking:
Edinburgh: 33rd
Sheffield: 102nd
Newcastle 133rd
2006 AWRU Ranking:
Edinburgh 52nd
Sheffield 69th
Newcastle 151st-200th (didn't even get a full ranking...)
Newsweek Top 100 Global Universities Survery
Edinburgh 47th
Sheffield 70th
Newcastle 97th
Voted "best place to be a student in the UK, 2006" in an independent survery by accommodationforstudents.com
Edinburgh has the 3rd largest financial endowment behind Oxford and Cambridge
So I do hope you were not insinuating that Edinburgh is not a decent university...

rob don't be implying Edinburgh is rubbish, It's an awesome uni (I really wanted to apply there but the course wasn't right for me & my GCSE grades would not have got me an interview anyway...twas my backup course though.)
So has everyone submitted UCAS forms yet? When's the deadline? I know Oxbridge/vets/med courses was mid october as usual - frantic calls from sis for PS help made sure I remembered...
Any exams in January anyone? Good luck if you do!
